i’m the person who has created this work. it is made with thought, care, humor, devotion, doubt, frustration and love. it encompasses, and is a mirror of, an ongoing journey. three distinct genres of art that reflect my personality.

all collections give you insight into my adoration for color, irreverence, irony and the many facets that lie in all of us. we are not just one thing as people— we are dynamic.

i have come to art later in life as a process to work through grief. take two stemmed from my desire to take one of my favorite photos of my mother, that captured her very essence, and somehow make it come to life. The original black and white photo was not enough. i began to decorate it, embellish it and add her recipes and handwriting and favorite patters to the piece to bring it to life. before i knew it, i was working through my deep need to be with her and at the same time creating— which is something i love at my core. the collection has grown centered around family photos. most of the folks, except for one, are dead and gone.

the other two collections, 4 insects and what a mag says, are what have emerged from sheer play— simply following my instinct to a conclusion. i find great joy in the unexpected and i love to laugh. I can’t exactly say where this will go, but I am enjoying the journey. .
